We were very very lucky to have Marco Pierre-White visit Giffords Circus on Monday, who generously offered to cook for the company alongside the Giffords Circus Sauce team. We all had a fantastic night and Marco was absolutely brilliant, not to mention Ollie who dd a fantastic job, and the food was simply some of the best food ever to be eaten.

The restaurant team were outstanding; they have worked flat out to be ready for Marco, and their efforts were worth every second. We began with a beautiful Lobster starter, then a gorgeous rump of lamb with dauphinoise potatoes and plenty of roasting juices, and we finished with some very special cherry trifle.

The little events like this that crop up during our tour are such huge moral boosters, they really firm the company together and become part of the stories about Giffords that we go on to re-live and tell. It reaffirms the importance of traveling through the rural countryside, being able to meet such generous and warm-hearted people through a labour of love. Although traveling can mean short stays and many goodbyes, it also opens up opportunities that never would have come about otherwise, and connections we may never have found.

So, thank you Marco, and thank you to Giffords Circus Sauce for striving so hard to make a mad travelling rural restaurant work, and to complete a night at the circus; this time it was our evening you completed.
