We are celebrating rolling into Marlborough Common this week with our new show Xanadu that has been playing to full houses throughout the summer. Ahead of the circus opening this Friday, 30th August our clown Tweedy has presented local charity, Charlie’s Charity with a cheque for £1,000 towards their work supporting children to fund their sporting ambitions in the community.
“Charlie’s Charity is set up in the memory of my son Charlie, who tragically died in a car accident at the age of 18. Charlie was loved by all who knew him and in his short but full life he made a huge and lasting difference to people’s lives,” said Jane Lamb, Charlie’s mother and founder of Charlie’s Charity.
“Sport, especially football, played a large part in Charlie’s life. Whether it was watching it on TV, watching Spurs or playing for his teams it was his passion and we are delighted to be supported by Giffords Circus.
Giffords Circus is passionate about supporting local schools and charities along its UK tour route and chose to support Charlie’s Charity after learning about all the great work that it does for young people to make the most of their sporting abilities and opportunities.
Giffords Circus opens this Friday, 30th August 2019 on Marlborough Common and runs until 9th September. Shows are fully booked this weekend but there is availability from the 7.30pm show on Monday, ticket prices start from £10 children and £15 adults.
