Site Technician/Electrician

Giffords Circus is a family run business set in the heart of the Cotswolds. Our vision was a miniature village green circus, bursting at the seams, packed, rowdy, tiny, a little band of performers who live nomadically, performing daily, engrossed in the serious business of making magic. Since the start in 2000 we have entertained over 1,000,000 people. We have travelled to Paris, Moscow, rural Hungary, Romania and beyond in search of talent and in search of people who are prepared to give up their own life temporarily and throw their lot in with ours and bring their mastery of a certain skill to our show. Now we are looking for people to join in to create the magic for the 2019 tour.

The role involves:

Assisting with rig and de-rig of the circus tent with the move team on tour.
Assisting with the removal, storage and safe transportation of all site and show electric cables.

Some aspects of caravan electrics.
Setting up the electric for the Front of House and maintaining it to ensure all outlets have electric.
Assisting with the generators ensuring they are fueled and switched on and off daily at the appropriate times.
Working with the Tent Technician and Trainee Technician during the tour to maintain the sound and lighting standards.
Operating within current health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
The successful applicant must be proactive, a problem solver, excellent communicator, must be able to work under own initiative and as part of a team directed by others and will live on site with the circus for the duration of the tour.
