Handyman

We require an onsite Handyman to tour with us for the whole season from April until end of September. You will be an extremely important member of the team and your skills in high demand on tour.  You will need to be able to work as part of the team consisting of different nationals but also be able to work alone and prioritise your tasks using a common sense approach to identify what is an urgent issue and ongoing repair jobs.  Experience in maintenance, carpentry, plumbing or electrical work desirable.

Box Office Assistant

Assisting the Box Office Manager with ticket sales, dealing with members of the public and their enquiries, assisting the Front of House Manager with duties, programme sales, handling cash and using card machine, liaising with our Box Office and the Circus Office.  Any first aid or fire marshal qualifications a bonus! You will also help with move, pull down and build.  1st May to 25th September.

Front of House Sales

Working under the Front of House Manager selling circus merchandise and refreshments, handling cash and using card machine, keeping the front of house clean and tidy, making popcorn and candyfloss (training given), dealing with members of the public and their enquiries.  Any first aid or fire marshal qualifications a bonus!  You will also help with move, pull down and build. 1st May to 25th September 2017.

Car Parker & Front of House Assistant

Assisting members of the public with parking before a show and at some grounds directing traffic to leave after a performance.  Assisting the Front of House Manager with duties, keeping the front of house clean and tidy, dealing with members of the public and their enquiries.  Any first aid or fire marshal qualifications a bonus!  You will also help with move, pull down and build. 1st May to 25th September.

Usherette

Assisting members of the public upon their entrance to the circus tent, checking tickets, selling programmes, being present on the ramps during the show, participating in the show where required (dance or performance experience preferable), selling merchandise during the interval, keeping the tent clean and tidy with the team.  Any first aid or fire marshal qualifications a bonus!  You will also help with move and pull down and flyering with the billing team on a build day. 18th April to 25th September.

Site Electrician/Technician

We are looking for a Site Electrician/Technician to join us for our 2017 summer tour.  Some of the main responsibilities include: Assisting with rig and de rig of the circus tent, setting up the electrics for the circus living quarters and maintaining it to ensure all caravans have electric, removal, storage and safe transportation of all site electric cables, cable and plug maintenance and repair, ensuring generator is fuelled and switched on and off daily at the appropriate times, some aspects of caravan electrics, supervising the show's sound and lighting operator.  The successful applicant must be proactive, a problem solver, excellent communicator, must be able to work under own initiative and as part of a team directed by others and will live on site with the circus for the duration of the tour.  Accommodation and some meals provided.  10thApril to 1st October 2017.

Junior Technician

We are looking for a Junior Technician for our 2017 show, assisting both the Tent and Site Technicians during the tour and rehearsal period. Some qualifications in sound/lighting operation and electrics required, however training will be given so willingness to learn is key!  The successful applicant must be proactive and an excellent communicator. Tent Technician

Giffords Circus is looking for a show Light & Sound Technician/Operator for our 2017 summer tour.  Some of the main responsibilities include: working with the lighting designer, sound designer and director during rehearsals, rig and de rig of the sound and lighting with the move team on tour, working with the Site Technician during the tour to maintain the sound and lighting standards, operating the sound and lighting during the shows.  The successful applicant must be proactive, a problem solver, excellent communicator, must be able to work under own initiative and as part of a team directed by others and will live on site with the circus for the duration of the tour.  Accommodation and some meals provided.  10thApril to 1st October 2017.
